Choose a minimum of three National Progression Awards - SCQF Level 5 - Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulations (OFQUAL) Level 2 equivalent to meet regulations under the British Horseracing Authority
Borders College, 1 day online, 3 days placement
This is the full-time, work-based option designed for people who may have some experience with horses or racehorses, or currently ride regularly. Students must take a minimum of three National Progression Awards which include Specialist Racehorse Care and Yard Routine and one of more of their choice. This option is for those who are hoping to use their equine knowledge and skills to gain employment in the horseracing industry. This course aims to develop individuals’ skills whilst working in a yard, either racing or stud, while at the same time developing fundamental learner personal, interpersonal and workplace skills.
